Early, a silent lad with yellow-gold eyes and cotton-colored hair, communicates with horses, in their language. This mystical horse whisperer, and his family, live on a frontier Colorado ranch in 1870. The boy uses his talent to gentle mustang horses, and is able to save mustang foals from an evil man. Early helps his Indian friends with their horses, while coping with good times, and threatening situations. The rustler problem on the ranch is dealt with in a unique way.
