Enfield, the northernmost of London’s suburbs, has changed enormously over the last 150 years. The former Middlesex market town is now firmly embedded in the vast London conurbation.Eastern Enfield developed into a major industrial area, well known for such products as radio valves, electric fires and cookers and, above all, the world-famous Lee Enfield rifle.
