Book II in the Nation Betrayed Series. After the corrupt government forces a medical procedure on the populace, resulting in a massive die-off of adults nationwide and within the military, survivors are left to fend for themselves. There is an invasion of the country by a rogue nation posing as UN Troops. But Americans don't submit so quickly to the invaders or the chaos. The survivors unite to save the children and the country. A small band of Americans, the Patriots, gather survivors. The Patriots have to battle the invaders while gangs of illegals and drug gangs ravage the remaining communities. Pressed into the unlikely role of leader, Annie Hamilton finds getting her small band of survivors to safety entails more than she bargained for. It seems every problem is her's to solve with the help of a black HPD officer, Lester Jenkins. All the while, Annie worries about two young men who chose to stay behind to fight the invaders in the suburbs of Houston. She vows to save them from their rash decision when Annie and Lester lead the survivors, leaving the city to find sanctuary at Clear Creek River Inn.
