"Defacing the currency," re-evaluating values: this is the mission that the oracle at Delphi supposedly entrusted to Diogenes. When related to the characters of tragic theater, to Socrates or Antisthenes, cynical subversion allows us to apply a concept of marginality to Greek Antiquity.
