DAF
's final album for
Virgin
,
Fuer Immer
is another set of spare synth-pop, defiantly non-melodic though not exactly harsh. While
Goerl
's productions usually balance a steady four-four beat with upbeat, repetitive synth progressions and only occasional organic elements,
Lopez
is all over the place, either sing-speaking in a guttural chant (
"A Little Bit of War,"
"The Gods Are White"
) or practically crooning like
Marc Almond
(
"In the Jungle of Love,"
"Fall in Love with Me"
). Neither member of
contributes much to the album, and except for scattered highlights like
"Kebab Dreams,"
is a disappointing album. ~ John Bush
