Gucci Crew
's albums hit the same way almost every time. With one or two great tracks produced, just enough filler was stitched together to fill out each album.

(1990) actually has three highlights --
"Booty Shake"
(one of their catchiest booty tracks),
"Project Girl"
(ditto), and
"Never Seen You Cry"
(a rare tender
ballad
). None of the filler is downright bad, but since
The Best of Gucci Crew II
contains each of this album's bright spots, there is no need to seek it out. Nonetheless, this album helped establish the group as one of the more prominent members of Miami's thriving early-'90s
bass
