Honestly, Nevermind
and the confused slog of

, it's nice to hear
sounding inspired and like he's having fun on some of these tracks. "Circo Loco" flips the beat of
Daft Punk
's "One More Time" and
delivers lines that recall the casual charm and self-awareness of his late-2000s output. The dark and creeping "More M's" finds

warming up the track with a forked-tongue verse before
comes through trying to match that intensity.
Travis Scott
offers the album's only credited feature with his verse on "Pussy & Millions," and several songs find either
or
unaccompanied. The two closing tunes take this route and are among the strongest on

sounds like he's ready to take on the entire world over the pitched-down drums of "3AM on Glenwood," and
is solo and in his feelings once more on the struggle-minded and beatless "I Guess It's Fuck Me."
is scattered, flowing more like a mixtape than a well-designed album, but there are plenty of highlights to balance out the less fully formed inclusions. ~ TiVo Staff
