Epilogue
Lamia felt poignant; the demon was down in the dumps overseeing the torment grounds of hell. Mazakim was gone, and so was Kadesya. Lucifer was displeased, "she should have been destroyed at infant!" his screams had shaken hell. The torment ground was nothing compared to the torment the gifted girl had unleashed on them.
"Apostello ten," Lamia whispered, unknown it was loud enough for Naamah to hear. "do you still fear her?" the other demon asked, intelligent enough to see the light shudder that worked through Lamia's false form.
"She cursed you to remain in hell. She is worthy of fear," Lamia argued. Every demon and devil felt she was stupid to be scared of a human, but Lamia knew this was not just an ordinary human. This was a disciple, an apostle—a girl who chose not the world but what was more significant than its corners.
"It's been nine years, surely she has forgotten her encounter with demons," Naamah suggested with a cold voice. Her eyes glinted with an insulting intent that Lamia quickly picked on but chose not to act on it. If anyone knew Naamah well, it was Lamia.
She knew how the half-demon came to the world and how she embraced her demon sides. "you may be right."
"I am right," Naamah insisted. "She is human. She will get married, have children and a career. Her focus will shift."
Lamia let out a gasp in realization as her thoughts wander. "then I must continue with the doctor's project."
"Of course," Naamah agreed.
