Eddie Shaw's
rollicking recent disc was waxed in his Chicago hometown with
the Wolf Gang

on guitar, longtime bassist
Shorty Gilbert
, and drummer
Tim Taylor
) summoning up solid support. Once again,
Shaw
tackles some interesting subjects -- he fantasizes about
"Blues in Paris,"
and decried being "Home Alone," and searches out an endorsement deal with "Motel Six" via his sprightly musical tribute to the budget chain. ~ Bill Dahl
