He's got a little Jewish gangster in him, a little love machine, a father's nose, a green thumb gardener's feel for the soil, and a man who has traveled those little old roads of America that never seem to leave our collective unconscious. Mostly, Miller's poems are filled with tenderness and kindness. But, here's the rub—there's an edge to them, and that is what makes them so damn compelling.
