Criminal investigator Greg Harper (Jon Tenney) must juggle the mounting tension from a kidnapping case with increasing problems in his marriage to his wife Jackie (Helen Hunt). Jackie struggles to cope with reality in the wake of a recent affair, and her family suffers the consequences. Soon after, a sinister force begins to lurk in the family's home, ultimately jeopardizing their young son Connor (Judah Lewis).
