What is weird is that three individuals (one vocalist, two samplers, and a synthesizer/sound processor) created this massive work. This is art music in the most extreme sense of the word. It's weird and unmusical; it's full of blips, bleeps, silences, and broken moments. There are themes in each of the multiple sections, but it's impossible to tell where one ends and another begins. There is a feeling of sexual tension in the air, but it is obliterated by the anarchy and the unevenness of the proceedings. There is also a footnote to the work, a literal P.S. in 14 parts of sonics and
a cappella
"singing" that are supposed to illuminate the primary text in someway, but this too is so skewed and deconstructed it's difficult to make headway of any sort other than to let it wash over you and be taken in by its spirit of cultural terrorism. It's interesting but maddening. ~ Thom Jurek
