Bud was a family man who started as a devoted son. Then he became a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. And he was an outstanding friend to a small circle of people and an even smaller group of those he called his "special friends."
Bud was a jokester, WWII veteran, patriot, accumulator and fiercely independent soul. He was remarkable not exclusively for his athletic prowess, but stood out through his ethics, his compassion for all living things, his devotion to his family, his inimitable humility, his respect for people and for the fact that he was a genuinely decent, likable guy.
This book focuses not so much on Bud's career, but the man behind the legend.
To facilitate affordability, the second printing is formatted differently from the collector's edition, coffee table-style book, and doesn't include his autograph. But it contains the same words, images and great story.
