In a small town in middle America, Janet is getting dinner ready for her lovely family. James is coming home from work. And colossal ogre is in a room chasing their son in a distant mystical land. This young boy's name is Joseph. He rips through the thick dark woods running for his life, with a smile on his face. Joseph is not afraid of anything, fearless conquering anything that he set before him.
Our hero comes to a complete stop when the ground beneath him turns into a huge cliff, dropping into a bottomless abyss. Joseph looks around, but there is no escape. The ogre is enraged, knocking down everything in his path, coming closer to capturing Joseph. He has no choice, so he closes his eyes and Jumps. Free-falling into the darkness, out of nowhere, an enormous bird comes and saves Joseph for his sure demise. Flying off into the sunset, his world begins to fade, revealing that he was playing pretend with his toys around this whole time—James, carrying Joseph downstairs for dinner.
Sometime later, Janet and James's world turned upside down when their beloved son has to be taken to the children's hospital. Joseph is excited not to be at home and looks at this another adventure. He goes into a deep sleep. Where his mind takes him back to that far far away land, which we start our story, this is where Joseph's true journey begins.
