I am an epileptic.
Everyone goes down his or her own road through life. One person's life may seem dark and dreary, while another person seems to be living a bright and exciting life. Yet, some folks live by ways and means that are far from either. Your "Average Joe" is a man who doesn't have everything he needs to live his life to the fullest. Instead, "Joe" struggles to gain or stay ahead or to maintain his status quo, feeling proud of the things he's accomplished. THAT is kind of like me.
David Stendel provides a very relatable snapshot into the life of someone with active epilepsy-treatment challenges, transportation barriers, and bullying, just to name a few. He also exemplifies one quality that I have found holds true amongst the epilepsy community...pure tenacity. David's relentless strength and endurance radiates through the pages of this book.
-Brianna Romines, President, Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan
