, which matched the energy and creativity of the groundbreaking artist's earliest work, the British electronic visionary released a significantly more subdued EP titled
Lamental
. While retaining a similar sense of melodicism as the album, the EP's tracks are much more reflective and mysterious. Both releases contain the mournful ambient composition "Detroit People Mover," an album outlier that now becomes a conceptual centerpiece. The track is made all the more poignant by its striking music video, a love letter to the Motor City filmed on an empty car of the actual Detroit People Mover during the COVID-19 pandemic, and released the day
was originally scheduled to perform a concert in the city. "The Paris Track" has a melody similar to that of "Detroit People Mover," but the energy level is accelerated somewhat, with acidic synths and tense techno beats. "Midi Sans Frontieres," presented with and without breakbeats, is a mildly stirring number that seems to be emotionally positioned somewhere between regret and acceptance. Far removed from
