History abounds with government buildings that stood the test of time from Kings, to tyrants, serfdom, Communism and finally freedom!
Churches are prevalent. In Bucharest, Churches, Cathedrals, Synagogues and Mosques are well represented. Major reconstructions are often done by and for banks, while at least one acclaimed reconstruction and reuse has been done by a famous bookseller chain! Churches, Hotels and apartment buildings are predominate. Few strip malls and shopping centers like in the US.
