I desire to express my indebtedness to the family of Bishop Kerfoot for invaluable aid in copying and arranglng much of the bishop's voluminous corre spondence and diaries Without that assistance the work would have been delayed much longer than it has been. It IS proper to add that for the use of all this material - both for what is inserted and for what has been omitted - the responsrbihty must lie, where it properly belongs, solely upon the author of the work.
