Long Gun Day Of Consequence - A Distorted Historical Caricature Of Actual Events In California & The Old West
In an inarticulate but sensitive way this story opens and proceeds awkwardly through a young cowboy's life, wanting of guidance. On July 4th, 1876, in the San Joaquin Valley, fatherless, five-year-old Jimmy Longhon, without for-thought, avenges the death of his best friend, Cisco, by inadvertently shooting Baxter Boreen to death. Jimmy grows up. He learns, and lives, the life of a weathered, trail savvy cowpuncher with quiet, honorable, intensity. Only a cowboy would endure and persevere the consequences brought on by his transgressions. Over the course of 113-years he traverses a labyrinth of love, hate and adventure along the dusty roads of California, during the old west. The story culminates in one more act of random kindness to Little Walt, his life long antagonist.
