was going to be the next guitar hero. Although he never reached those heights, his debut album,

, stands as a fine representation of mainstream rock in the late '70s. While it may be slightly reminiscent of
Steve Miller

the Doobie Brothers
, the album is surprisingly consistent and is carried by two strong singles,
"Down the Road"
and "Mama Let Him Play."
