Let me tell you a curious story about how George Washington Carver can help Catholic teachers.
George Washington Carver had a tough life. He was born into slavery, and his dad died before he was born. He, his mother, and his sister were kidnapped, and he never saw them again.
While still a child, he developed a love for botany.
Although he developed alternative methods to preserve the soil, he's best known for his work with peanuts.
He eventually discovered over 300 uses for peanuts.
Just as he did many wonderful things with peanuts, so Mary can do many wonderful things with Catholic teachers.
The vocation of a Catholic educator is one of high esteem. That's why Pope Pius XI reminded Catholic educators...
"The proper and immediate end of Christian education is to cooperate with divine grace in forming the true and perfect Christian, that is, to form Christ Himself in those regenerated by Baptism, according to the emphatic expression of the Apostle: "My little children, of whom I am in labor again, until Christ be formed in you" (Gal. 4:19) (Encyclical,
On Christian Education
, #94).
What the Holy Father is saying is that the ideal Catholic educator has at heart the sanctification of her students no less than their instruction.
Here's why this book will help you in your mission.
St. Louis de Montfort revealed...
"Predestinate soul, here is a secret the Most High has taught me, which I have not been able to find in any book, old or new. I confide it to you, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit" (
"The Secret of Mary
", #1).
This secret is the spiritual equivalent of turning your annual salary into your monthly salary. St. Louis emphasizes...
"By this practice, faithfully observed, you will give Jesus more glory in a month than by any other practice, however difficult, in many years" (
"True Devotion to Mary"
, #222).
Imagine what that'll do for your relationship with God.
Fr. Emil Neubert was an expert at teaching this secret to others.
St. Maximilian Kolbe told his fellow Franciscans about him:
"He has the exact same spirit as we have."
He'd also told them about St. Louis:
"The devotion taught by Blessed Grignion is ours exactly."
So, he told them that St. Louis and Fr. Neubert were on the same page.
And Fr. Neubert wrote books about this secret for every state of life.
Blessed Pope Pius IX stated:
"God has committed to Mary the treasury of all good things, in order that everyone may know that through her are obtained every hope, every grace, and all salvation. For this is His will, that we obtain everything through Mary."
He also declared that St. Louis' devotion to Mary was the best and most acceptable form of devotion to Our Lady, which means this is the best way to help Our Lady carry out her mission of saving sinners.
Our Lady wants you to share in her compassion for sinners, and she asks for your help to save them.
To emphasize this, she showed the three shepherd children at Fatima a vision of hell, and told them...
"You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish throughout the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart."
And on Aug. 19, 1917, she told them, "Pray, pray a great deal, and make sacrifices for sinners, for many souls go to hell because they have no one to sacrifice and pray for them."
And so, there are souls who not only need you to practice devotion to her, but this specific devotion to her.
That's because St. Louis also emphasized that this devotion is "more glorious to God, more sanctifying to the soul, and more useful to the neighbor, than any other of the devotions to her" (True Devotion, #118).
