Dr. Beekman has taught online at the University of Phoenix, National College, Excelsior
College, University of the Potomac, Remington College, Columbia Southern University, Capella
University and Baker College.
He has taught under graduate, graduate and doctorial level courses in sociology, cultural diversity, action research, change negotiation and conflict resolution in health care, critical thinking, social problems, social change, ethics, philosophy, leadership challenge, gender and diversity issues, grant writing, training and development, supervisory principles, international aspect of adult education and personal health.
Dr. Beekman has chaired 45+ doctoral committees with Capella University.
Before higher education, Dr. Beekman's academic background includes administrative experience as an Assistant Superintendent for Academics on the Navajo Reservation, Assistant Principal for a Native American High School (Boarding School) in South Dakota and Principal for an Elementary/Junior High School in Indiana.
His teaching experience includes teaching in the inner city, teaching Native American students from more than 40+
tribes. He taught grades K-12 as well. He also designed and implemented individual transition plans and curriculum.
