Mossaan depicts the beauty of a young woman who dreams of becoming liberated and grabs every opportunity that is presented to her. She lives a noble, decent life filled with serendipity. Everybody loves her. She serves her community so well without complaints and that helped her gain the popularity she enjoys from her relatives and every person that visited her village. She dreams of going to the city to work to make her life better. This is something that every young man and woman do to be able to support their families. The same way people travel abroad for a greener pasture. People travel to their neighbouring towns and cities for a better life. However, Mossaan is unable to go on her own. The elders of the village always have a say in their children's upbringing and welfare.
The elders in the village do not easily let young women like her travel alone to work in their cities without a place to live. Her aunty finally arranged for her to marry her own son which she agreed to do. The book showcases the norms with everything that addresses culture and tradition, the welfare of the girl child, women and freedom, fate, faith, and a lot of historic events.
As the author, I present to you my childhood in volume 1 of the sequel contrasting the two different lives of these African Children.
