This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-workshop proceedings of the First Pacific Rim International Conference on Multiagents, PRIMA '98, held in Singapore in November 1998 during PRICAI '98.
The 13 revised full papers presented have been carefully reviewed for inclusion in the book.
