Mary Wollstonecraft was the first modern feminist. Her three works, translated in the eighteenth century, are provided here: Defense des droits des femmes (1792), the essay which made her famous, Maria, ou le Malheur d'etre femme (1798), her second novel and Marie et Caroline, a collection of stories for children.
