Set in the winter of 1685, this is an epic tale of three French Huguenot families, their friendship, tribulations and unquenchable faith, in the face of appalling and brutal religious repression. Following the revocation of the Edict of Nantes and faced with the abysmal prospect of often lethal punishment and unending victimization, they finally plan a daring escape. An exodus that would, after many years and trials to both spirit and body, deliver them first to safety and then onwards to the dark continent.
