Excerpt from Our Rival
For the sake of illustration and interest, we have sketched in the life dramas of typical rascals, in which no stroke of fancy is added to distort or impair the truth of the pictures. If they do not appear like the heroes or principals in the lurid yellow covered fiction of our time, they have at least the merit of being true portraits of real men.
Accompanying these sketches we have given also photo graphs oi distinctive criminals who have made their mark in the crime of this century, together with cuts illustrating the latest improvements in the instruments and weapons used for the perpetration of crimes.
