Jan Matsumoto has definitely had her share of a few life-changing challenges. Besides witnessing her son's death from cancer, she also dealt with an abusive husband and even endured a bout with breast cancer. With all of these trials she faced, it would have been easy to let emotions overcome her and her trust in God dwindle. Yet Jan explains, in her new advice book Overcomers, Not Overcome, that God is our refuge to get over the rough spots in life. He has created us to be overcomers, as Jesus overcame the world with His resurrection, and to trust Him to change challenges into blessings. As Jan began to see her trials through God's perspective, she saw that the situations were meant for a greater purpose in God's will. Whether it is forgiveness of others or handling grief for loved ones, God helps us overcome for good.
