Patches the Kitten Gets Lost is book 1 in an illustrated Children's Book series about a tiny cat who looked like a baby kitty. She wanders away from her cat Mommy while chasing a butterfly and finds a new home.
One evening in late June about 5 years ago, a tiny kitten decided to explore her neighborhood. She walked around a tree, sniffed at a few flowers, chased a butterfly and stuck her nose into a puffy, white dandelion.
What a fun day this had been, thought the little kitten as she continued to wander from house to house. There were so many strange things to see besides her Mommy, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Besides, they always told her she looked funny. The kitten's sisters were all white and fluffy and her brothers were black and slick but not this little kitty - Oh No! She had white, brown, orange, black and her left front leg had gray stripes, white tips on both front paws and her back paws had tall white boots with a great white tip on her fluffy tail. Her coat was long and got leaves and rocks caught in it because she was so tiny. But this little kitty did not care a bit if everyone else thought she looked funny - she just liked to explore and hunt bugs, chase birds and butterflies. So kitty continued on her way, pouncing on anything that moved and sometimes even when it did not move just for fun. Kitty loved to jump and run...
