The book looks into the entities of Soul and Mind and not Religion or God (ALL, ONE, or whatever), which are more personal in nature, causing endless debate. I have examined the paradigm of change as we see it through the prism of society in chapter one. Chapters two and three delve into past thoughts on the subject of soul and mind.
In about 100 pages, Chapter 2 gives the readers a feel for what views the western philosophers developed regarding mind and soul during the past two millennium. For example:
[Excerpt1: Starting with Thales around 600 BC, the old stalwarts of western philosophy strongly believed in the property of "movement" as being the closest definition of the nature of Soul. Thales, who was the first to explain the element, water, thought of Soul to be some kind of motive force. His famous line - "Magnet has a soul in it because it moves the iron" promoted that very idea].
Next, Chapter 3 talks about eastern philosophy on soul and mind from the point of view of Bhagavad Gita, and captures its essence in roughly 25 pages. For example:
[Excerpt2: Can the mind and soul break the universal code and become aware of the totality? Says Bhagavad Gita on this aspect of totality: "God is the All and therefore, no part of the All can know what all there is - only the All can be aware of itself - only God knows all knowledge (Veda) and also the end of knowledge (Vedanta)"].
Finally, Chapter four covers the past 200-year evolution of communications and information technologies, including Internet, ending with the concept of people super highway. Like "information" travels on the Internet or the Information Super Highway, the last chapter of thebook explains how "Souls" travel over the People Super Highway, making Soul and Information equivalent. In a way, the book is about the metaphysics of the Internet, and how it relates to the principles of Hinduism, including Re-incarnation. For example:
[Excerpt3: Science and Technology pose a formidable challenge to even the most accomplished engineers and scientists let alone the layman. The rank-and-file are more interested in simple analogies to see through the complexities of things that nature offers, and how they directly affect them. Internet and the Information Super Highway are no different when it comes to analogies. My ultimate goal is to conclude the book with a metaphorical analysis of soul and mind from the People Super Highway point of view, keeping in view that this idea is only a paradigm and not a proof positive by any stretch of the mind. I will leave that assessment and judgment to the soul and mind of every reader].
Considering there are over 6 billion people in the world and growing, the book has a worldwide scope in several different languages. Pantaloon/Depot did a wonderful job of bringing out the English version; editions in the other languages are contemplated depending on how the English Version is received.
