Lucius Annaeus Seneca (c. 4 BC - AD 65) was a Roman Stoic philosopher, statesman, dramatist, and in one work humorist, of the Silver Age of Latin literature. This volume contains the complete original texts of two of his best known works, both based on earlier Greek plays.Phaedra which tells the story of the wife of King Theseus of Athens, and her consuming lust for her stepson, Hippolytus. Oedipus chronicles the story of a man who becomes the king of Thebes and was always destined from birth to murder his father and marry his mother.
