Since then he has been an uncompromising opponent of the system of Government under which he failed. He is the father of anti-british agitation in Bengal, especially among the student community with whom he has great influence. He founded the Ripon College, and it was at a meeting held in this college on 17th July 1905 that the boycott movement was inaugurated in Bengal.
