This short study discusses the major problems in the conservation of mobile exhibits from archaeological excavations, for example issues of temperature, humidity, absence of light and oxygen. Alongside the UNESCO recommendations laid out in 1956 and 1978, and the International Charter for the Conservation and Restoration of Monuments and Sites in 1964 (given in English in an appendix), Capogrossi outlines some practical directives for those working in the conservation industry.
