Roamin' Home is a collection of poems and lyrics composed by Gene Ladd. Gene is a child of Appalachia who answered the call of the city lights, but left his heart in the Smoky Mountains where he grew up. The subjects range from pure love to bar room heart breaks. It's about pretty girls, trucks and cornbread; all the things that make a man happy or break his heart. It's also about aging. Gene is a shade under 90 and finds the golden years a bit tarnished, but anything but boring. The poems are enhanced by beautiful illustrations drawn by Theresa Firster who is also a shade under 90, and anything but boring.
