USA) international students were confronted by an actual storm, Hurricane Ida, almost upon arrival for the Fall 2021 semester. Their stories highlight the synthesis of struggles relating to Ida, the previous year spent in online learning and the myriad of acculturation issues facing international students initially at an American university.
