Parents will often let their children beli ve even though they themselves really don't. "A black eye? Why are they telling me black eye. It is about me. I don't think I've ever had a black eye and I really didn't want one. That was in the morning. In the afternoon, I went outside into the hot sun. I came back in and went to the ladies room. I looked up in the mirror and said to the girl next to me as I was laughing, "I look like I have a black eye." My eyeliner had smeared around my eye from the hot sun. Oh, I thought to myself, that is why they were telling me "black eye". They play all kinds of tricks like that on me now. Oh wait! It's not a trick. It means something...
