This is a mostly straight-ahead set featuring 's piano in a variety of settings. He takes and unaccompanied; duets with the brilliant flutist (his musical partner in ) on ; plays three songs in a trio with bassist and drummer ; and leads a quintet comprised of guitarist , bassist , drummer , and either altoist or flutist through three of his tricky but likable originals.
