She has a passion for sweets and frosting. He just wants to do his job and have a cup of coffee.
Marley Winters' life is baking up delicious treats. But just as the holiday season kicks off, she learns that trusting others comes at a steep cost. Her (now ex) boyfriend has been stealing the store's rent money. To make matters worse, John Klaus, the most handsome lawyer she's ever seen, arrives to serve her an eviction notice since she is now several months behind on payments. Since she doesn't have the cash, Marley must leave her business by the end of the year.
When John delivers the bad news to Marley, it's just another day on the job. But then the pretty baker fights back, proposing an improbable plan: if she can drum up all the missing rent money, she can stay in her bakery. John's not a monster... he doesn't want to dash the hope twinkling in those dazzling blue eyes. He agrees to give her three weeks. There's no way she can raise the money in time. Besides, it's all in the spirit of Christmas.
But John finds himself showing up for coffee day after day, just to keep an eye on things. At least that's what he tells himself. And Marley, becoming accustomed to seeing John's smile, begins to wonder if he's really as Scrooge-like as she first thought.
