We live in a multiverse, and those universes closest to us in "proximity" still hold to the laws of physics and scientific methodology that we ourselves know to be true. Gravity, time, biology all works the same.
Stars still age, and even our Sun will become a Red Giant someday, who knows?
Humanity may still be around when it does turns red. For in a universe like ours—in a multiverse of possibilities—the universe we live in may harbour life now around such stars. On some distant and not yet perceivable horizon.
A world may have given birth to a species not unlike our own, in many ways. Yet the universe is an obtuse and mysterious place, one of balance, and this balance is not always just nor to our liking. Often times, each just act is opposed, by being just, by an equal or greater injustice and there is nowhere in the universe that we can run to escape this principle. Whether we are inhabitants of earth or immigrants to it.
This is where this story begins. In one such universe, on one such world where the lives of not only two species but three collide in the everyday struggles that befall one boy. One inconspicuous handicapped boy. A boy so ordinary, to others, and yet so loved that he could not imagine what life would have in store for him, nor the tragedies that would occur.
For he is a child of not only one world but three, and his future was all but set before that perverse and inverse principle of balance stepped in. It gave to him a future far from the one he thought he would make for himself.
Here, on earth, he would make choices more pertinent not only for his own life and those he loved, but, perhaps, would later change the face of three planets and the multiverse we all share.
Far from the Red Sun which held his true heritage, he would learn that life and happiness are by products of choice standing against the decrees of destiny and not the other way around. He would also learn that often fate and the universe works against him...
