A novel of romantic intrigue.
Strangers is a love story.
Sophia Winters: The sophisticated attorney thought she would never get over her love for her childhood sweetheart, Ross. Until she met Dante Romano and realized what true love is.
Dante Romano: The recently divorced political leader had a reputation as a rogue. Would his attraction to Sophia Winters turn into something more permanent than a fling?
Ross Trevallion: How far would he go to win election to the state legislature? Would he murder an election opponent?
Theodore Stanton: Was the State Representative murdered to silence what he knew?
Professor Bill Hadley: Would the candidate kill to revenge what his political opponent did to the woman Hadley loves?
Excerpt:
"I don't care WHO you are," Sophia said coldly. She listened to the rain lashing against the car windows.
Surprise flashed across Romano's taut face.
"Who I am will matter if your love affair with Ross interferes with Bill's ability to win this election."
"How dare you suggest . . . ."
He roughly forced Sophia to face him.
"Sophia, look at me and deny it---deny that you've had an affair with Ross."
Sophia rolled her eyes.
"Ross and I were lovers during college for a few short months many years ago."
At first, Romano was struck speechless by her admission.
"I may take you to bed myself to undo his influence."
The only sound inside that car was the vicious pounding of raindrops against the roof and the occasional claps of thunder in the distance.
Dante regretted the foolish words the instant he had said them. What she must think of him . . . .
Sophia was furious, and rightly so.
"Is that the kind of man you are, Dante Romano? A married man who would make love with a woman to hurt a political opponent? A man who would engage in intimacy for some purpose other than love?"
