TEXAS MINI-POLEIS is an architecture research-and-design studio investigating the five Texas' smallest (population) yet fully incorporated cities. The book-project documents these cities by drawing them, analyzing historical and legal documents, learning from their demographics and economy, ecological and natural factors, environmental assets or threats, cities' social media and online presence, and in some cases through interviews with local residents. The design component of the studio produced projects as Design Responses to test our capacity to engage with the findings, and are proposed as three scales: 1:1 (tactic, directly implementable), Spatial Construction (building scale), City Vision (renewed whole).
