Alpha hunters are considered the most elite soldiers and are used for particularly dangerous missions. While they are held in high regard, alpha hunters are bought and sold and treated no better than a rifle or a suit of armor. One alpha hunter in particular had enough of this foul treatment and stood up against her owners in the middle of the First Contact War and declared to be killed else she would fight for her freedom.
