The front wall of the Painters Guild lay in ruins. Burnt and twisted, one gate hung by a single hinge. The other was completely missing.
'I think there is little doubt...,' Cyrus said somberly, '... but I fear it has to be the Book of Red. It has appeared periodically throughout history. It is a thing of tremendous evil.'
The Signeurs of the Stargazers Guild are going to betray Pulgam to the Dark River. Mosofet, Lord of the Seven Worlds, is seeking vengeance, his dark army right behind him. Now someone, or something, has let loose the Book of Red. The Lord of the Keep has returned to Pulgam, but where is the King? William's world is in peril. Who will sit on the throne in this time of great danger?
Colin wasn't volunteering. The Sword of Destiny was refusing to talk to him anymore. Being a hero suddenly didn't seem so appealing. Already gifted with magical sight, Victoria was still discovering her talents - and they seemed to be growing every day. Sebastian, on the other hand, was enjoying life as a normal, regular boy - while Mio was still waiting impatiently to grow up. And as for William? He just knew that it wasn't fair. Why was he the only one who didn't have any magical talent!
