I love attending weddings. I've experienced them bringing out the best in people time and again. Something transcendental draws my soul into these moments that I now recognize and identify as the tangible presence of HOPE. Cultures come together, religious dividing lines come down and people stand and agree it is good for two lives to be joined in holy matrimony. Dressed in their best and present with anticipation participants experience what can perhaps be described as a mystical banquet. The celebration echoes deep into our souls. The wedding is unmistakably a tradition of ritual and covenant that has stood the test of time. Amidst it all we can hardly recognize what our Creator has put on display. We collectively agree it is good, but the truest nature of the union escapes our comprehension. God has brought two lives together. He designed it so we could peer into and experience part of a profound mystery. This mystery is the very purpose of creation and designed to be a type and shadow of His ultimate union with us.
