Recovery Journal - Burn Book Edition
The words we tell ourselves have tremendous power over our lives. During my early days in my recovery from compulsive gambling these words kept me from healing and moving forward with my life. I found that writing in my journal helped me to process the worst of my emotions: Pain, Guilt, Shame and Self Doubt. After I was able to get them onto the paper they were still tugging at me so I decided to burn the journal and as I did I felt this huge weight lift off me, these words and the emotions that came with them no longer hold power over me in this chapter of my story.
