Excerpt from The Charter of the City of Nashville: As Amended by Various Acts of the General Assembly of Tennessee, Including All Amendatory Acts Passed by the General Assembly of 1909, to Which All Such Acts of 1909 Are Prefixed
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee, That Chapter 114 Of the Acts of 1883, passed March 21, 1883, and approved March 27, 1883, and the various subsequent Acts amendatory there of, all constituting the charter Of the city Of Nashville, be, and the same are hereby, amended as follows - to Wit: The compensation of Assistant City Tax Assessor, the Assistant City Comptroller, and the Assistant City Treasurer Of all cities controlled by this Act shall be each per annum payable monthly, and the salary of the officer attached to the Law Department shall be $1 500 per annum, payable monthly.
