The story of a conqueror, a young black woman, Latosha (Williams) Cox, who had undergone some traumatic experiences and overcame the adverse effects of sexual abuse, physical abuse, childhood trauma, and domestic violence, including a near-death experience that resulted in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder PTSD. In its criteria, the novel provides a clinical breakdown as it supports the knowledge of trauma and how it is articulated in this story. As a child, Latósha struggled with feeling loved and accepted.
