With Brell at her side, and Todd and Thriss joining their plight, they explore the treacherous Alaskan wilderness. Enduring heavy snowstorms and fighting hungry polar bears, they push onward, barely escaping death. When Brell is lost, and Todd and Thriss mysteriously disappear, Laura is left on her own to find help in unexpected, unconventional places. Laura must save her friends before Brell is sacrificed during the "dance of lights in the sky," but little does she know, back home, her human family is being terrorized by the Landaffins who want her dead.
Laura must choose between both worlds. One choice will lead to a war without Landaffin magic, giving humans the unfair advantage. But the other choice could mean death to those she loves.
