ABOUT THE DAZZLING UNIVERSE OF HELEN FOX by Tom Richards
In 1976, Doug Masters, a young pilot, is flying a Lear Jet to an Alaskan airport. When he encounters a strange object that almost destroys his jet and realizes it's a UFO, he vows never to tell anyone. Yet, when he begins to dream about a young woman he'll meet someday, and a silent voice whispers in his head about a future of both happiness and global tragedy, Doug at first thinks he's insane. What follows is an encounter not only with the young woman of his dreams but also an experience that makes him realize that his dream was reality not fiction-one which takes him, as well as the woman, on a voyage to outer space.
Years later, Helen Fox, a thirty-two-year-old Irish woman, becomes pregnant in Ireland and is simultaneously operated on for cancer, resulting in the horrific stillbirth of her infant. Fleeing Ireland, she flies to New York City. Onboard that airplane, she meets Doug Martin, a co-pilot for United Airlines. They fall in love and, after only a few days, Doug asks her to marry him. Following a horrific accident during which Doug is the pilot-in-command of a stricken passenger aircraft, half the passengers die and half survive. Suffering from life-threatening injuries due to the violent crash, he experiences nightmares and related symptoms due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Helen visits him in the hospital and realizes that his symptoms are not only the result of the accident but also due to a woman she also had heard whisper silently in her head, just like Doug.
Both of them soon experience the inexplicable. First that silent voice, then a Lady who is much more than a woman, visits them both in their dreams. But it turns out that the dreams are actually reality. They find themselves aboard a NASA space vehicle near the Centauri Galaxy. Alone and without oxygen, food or water, an alien intergalactic spaceship rescues them. Soon, Helen and Doug learn that the beings who saved them are from the planet Gaia near the Centauri Galaxy.
The Royal Queen and her Consort take them to that planet. There, Helen and Doug are married. But they learn that when the Queen dies Helen will become the next Royal Queen of the planet Gaia. It is up to Helen and Doug to save the Earth from annihilation.
The Dazzling Universe of Helen Fox is a story first about space travel to a distant galaxy-and a dystopian view of what the world might turn into if humankind lets it.
