Fred Arbogast, arguably Akron, Ohio's greatest angler, founded his company in 1925-1926 at his home and built his business throughout the 1930s-1940s through various challenges including the Great Depression and World War II. By 1946, he incorporated his business for the purpose of protecting his company in case of any troubles and for corporate purposes. One year later, in 1947, he died while ice skating at an indoor ice skating facility in Akron, Ohio. His corporation, the Fred Arbogast & Company, Incorporated, survived despite Fred's untimely passing. With the name of the corporation slightly altered to the Fred Arbogast Company, Incorporated, the business thrived with changes in ownership, lure production, new salesmen, and new experimental engineering. This book provides collectors and those interested in fishing tackle history with additional company knowledge, production charts, color charts, and additional historical information on specific products. It provides information that will help guide those who enjoy collecting tackle produced in plastic and wooden varieties.
